Did I miss a story?

Tried to edit this last night. NOt sure what the goal is other than to maybe unlock the media valuation by separating it from T more utility like components? Market seems to like it anyway.

I haven't researched it.  Hadn't heard of it until you and Otter were discussing it last week.  I am trying to not add too many more new names.  We'll see how long that lasts.

Very small trades this morning.  Added a few shares to DG-ARKF  Sold a few SLV puts.

So if I'm reading this right, HBOMAX, CNN, and other media properties will be split off from AT&T and merged into a new company, and we AT&T shareholders will receive shares of it.

Dude I am a charter member of ENPH.  I made a few hundred a month the past year selling short puts while it ran.  I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath.  I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares.     I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125.  If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even.  I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap.  I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime.

I am very good with owning ENPH long-term.  How happy I am in the end very much depends on the entry.  We'll see where the bottom is soon enough.

Well me too. Got in at $108.90 

This will be a big winner for years to come.  You have to add at some point, so why not today. I don't worry about making a few $ here and there  . I'm in to win it lol

So if I'm reading this right, HBOMAX, CNN, and other media properties will be split off from AT&T and merged into a new company, and we AT&T shareholders will receive shares of it.

Seems to be the gist of it.  They will move the debt and dividend around as well.  Discovery is good content IMO so maybe just this once T won't make a nightmare deal they live to regret.

Heh, I had built AT&T up into a "full position" in my portfolio, but not a "double" position, so once it splits into two companies, I'll have two undersized positions now.

Also, the last time I had one company split into two was Hewlett Packard, and only one of them remained good.

Just me speculating but if it goes down like I suspect it will be two very different companies.  A utility-like telecom and a ticker to compete with Netflix and DIS.  Much of the Div staying with the boring part.  We shall see.  I really am just guessing. I have dumped a lot of spin-offs over the years, and quite a few of them turned out to be very decent investments, but not immediately. If this turns out to be a spinoff, but they are still owned by the parent somebody will have to explain the point of this to me. This will be highly scrutinized so we'll know the details soon enough. I think they are trying to acquire quality content without borrowing more money they shouldn't be borrowing.

Here's a prediction. HD and LOW will announce a good quarter this week, perhaps peak for this cycle. Spring = Christmas compared to other big box retailers. Absolutely brutal comps going forward and 5% growth for a year looks a little light for the current PE. We shall see but I say down for the week, and probably sideways at best six months from today.. Today's Price mark HD 323 LOW 199 today. I'll try to remember to drag this up at the end of the year whether I am right or wrong.

Took an initial position in ABNB

As I have always said. I wont chase but am happy to buy stocks when they are heavily discounted from the highs. I like ABNB . I think its the way of the future. No one wants to stay in hotel rooms anymore. And with the economy open to full capacity and 80% vaccinated this name should do well.
