What Did You Buy Today?

My question is who”s the suckers who fell for that pre market and bought at $33.50 ?
I don't know how far it falls to but $25 is the direction.  Until very recently 95% had to be in T for no other reason than the Div.  Another high yielder takes it's prey.

Where did you read div is cut in half?  That doesn't seem likely.

It’s all over the boards. News was released.. That’s why it’s down to $30 after hours lol

Yeah I read that as well they were cutting the dividend in half.  The news hit the wires. AT&T signaled that it will cut its dividend to reflect the company's smaller size once it spins off its media.

Cramer slammed it as well on his show. I wish I sold it when it hit $33 today. POS LOL  Big Grin

Yup dead stock now. Time to abandon ship. I will be selling and buying something else.

AT&T said it expects an annual dividend payout ratio of 40% to 43% from more than $20 billion of expected free cash flow. That implies a total payout of between $8 billion and $8.6 billion.  That would represent a steep drop from the $15 billion AT&T paid in dividends in 2020, when free cash flow – or the cash left over after operating costs and capital investments – came to more than $40 million. Morgan Stanley analyst Simon Flannery points out that it would mark "a nearly 50% reduction from current levels and would put the stock on a low 4% (yield)

Hm... Wondering if the ATT spinoff + Discovery entity will pay a dividend... Anyone found anything on that?
Originally I thought a small one and read it. It wouldn't seem to fit well in a content war plan. Investors are going be loud and they will need to share details before T loses much more market CAP. You would think so anyway.
They tried to hide the dividend cut and got caught. Pretty pathetic by the board members. Just saw the interview on CNBC regarding T. Can’t fool anyone guys lol

$29.51 pre-market

I haven't researched it.  Hadn't heard of it until you and Otter were discussing it last week.  I am trying to not add too many more new names.  We'll see how long that lasts.  Smile

What I need is for tech to get hammered for real again, but this market is resilient.

Very small trades this morning.  Added a few shares to DG-ARKF  Sold a few SLV puts.

Heavy sigh.  I'll have to take a loss.

I also took a new position in PXD thanks to the secondary at $153

I needed to add another name in the sector to go along with CVX and EOG

now the only other sector I'm underweight in is leisure  Big Grin
Dude I am a charter member of ENPH.  I made a few hundred a month the past year selling short puts while it ran.  I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath.  I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares.   Big Grin  I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125.  If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even.  I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap.  I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime.

Yeah yeah. What ever floats your boat  Big Grin lol
I am very good with owning ENPH long-term.  How happy I am in the end very much depends on the entry.  We'll see where the bottom is soon enough.

Well me too. Got in at $108.90  Big Grin

This will be a big winner for years to come.  You have to add at some point, so why not today. I don't worry about making a few $ here and there  Big Grin . I'm in to win it lol

Are we having fun today  Big Grin

I wouldn't panic sell this morning if it happens to dip hard.  There is likely a time when T is a good value again.  I am going to guess it drifts lower for a good while though.  "Note to self", don't spend too much time reading the countless articles whining about the dividend the next few days."  It's entirely possible they modify the original plan.  I lost confidence in T management long ago.  It's why I sold covered calls and eventually my shares went away.

P.S.- Barely 30 days ago T CEO was on CNBC telling us all how safe the dividend was. Probably hatching a plan to reduce it within a week or two of that interview. Not the first time I have seen that trick play out. Keep the stock price up while you are negotiating a deal.
OK, everybody write a new post today.  Stop quoting the last 17 posts you responded to weeks ago.  Like I just did five minutes ago lol.
Added to AVGO.
Sold out of T in 1 account. Will keep in the other.

I sold out as well.
Just realized I still have some T in my "boat account". I'll probably try to get out while it is still profitable. Only because I suspect I'll have a chance to get back in 5-10% cheaper if I see value after this mess sorts out. Unfortunately that matters until if and when this income pig starts growing for real.
Sold out of wfc in my kids account and replaced with VZ
