I sold some ETFS, high flyers and trimmed a few other non dividend holdings. My goal is to get to 20k-25k a year in dividend stocks.
I have about 8 years or so before retirement so want that extra income going forward. I learned don’t get greedy and think things will just keep going up. I’m fine with holding mostly low beta stocks for now and the future unless tech gets creamed again lol
My top 10 now are ABBV, LMT, DUK, MSFT, NSC, MO, PEP, CMI, APD and AVGO
MA and ITW just outside the top 10
No bad dividend stocks right there.
What a great list of top 10 (12) you have! Except for NSC & CMI I own the rest of them.
I added a little ABBV and I think I have over 300 shares now. Still way much smaller than yours.
I sold out WKHS after the surge today at a small loss. I plan to exit most of my speculative stocks when the time is right.
Yeah no more spec stocks from me.
OK guessing game time!
so guys and gals, today we will be guessing the date on which divmenow makes his next speculative stock purchase.
My guess is Wednesday 9th of June.
:p
Do calls count lol
What do we consider spec? Just about anything is a spec right now
That is a very good point. And a tough question to answer.
I'm sure he will find something crazy to buy sooner or later. This is more about joking about his addiction to buying... he just can't stop

Divemenow is going to Hell for lying. Will he lie about lying about lying about not playing any spec?
His top ten will change before I need to gas my Jeep up again lol.

I also took a new position in PXD thanks to the secondary at $153
I needed to add another name in the sector to go along with CVX and EOG
now the only other sector I'm underweight in is leisure
Dude I am a charter member of ENPH. I made a few hundred a month the past year selling short puts while it ran. I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath. I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares. I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125. If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even. I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap. I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime.
Yeah yeah. What ever floats your boat lol
I am very good with owning ENPH long-term. How happy I am in the end very much depends on the entry. We'll see where the bottom is soon enough.
Well me too. Got in at $108.90
This will be a big winner for years to come. You have to add at some point, so why not today. I don't worry about making a few $ here and there . I'm in to win it lol
Are we having fun today

I haven't researched it. Hadn't heard of it until you and Otter were discussing it last week. I am trying to not add too many more new names. We'll see how long that lasts.
What I need is for tech to get hammered for real again, but this market is resilient.
Very small trades this morning. Added a few shares to DG-ARKF Sold a few SLV puts.

Great find! As a connoisseur of 7+ yield stocks, I definitely need to add it to my collection.
You guys need a yield trap thread. We can all come there when you are crying about your Div cuts .

OGN is forecasting declining revenues, so I sold my OGN.
Maybe they’ll merge with VTRS and create an even larger generic pharmaceutical company with terrible earnings.
KTB (VFC spinoff) has been one of my few pleasant surprises for spinoffs.
I usually just hold whatever gets spun, unless it is a situation like T where the forecast is for an overall, substantial dividend cut.

I think YUM was the only spin I considered successful in my port. (PEP spinoff). We have some more of this coming as blue chip growth eventually slows and they try to keep the party going. I could be wrong but I think Phillip Morris is probably the champion for spinning off companies that turn out to be good eventually.
I was all ready to keep my OGN. I think I will at least keep it around a minute until I get more facts. It can't be much weaker than MRK has been. I can't even rid myself of MRK selling covered calls and I've sure tried.

NOC on.a role.
Looks like it’s the defense companies turn to keep running. GD looking good as well.
HD and LOW keep falling. I hope they continue to drift lower so I can add at lower levels lol
No buys today so suck it ?

DFEN definitely keeps chugging along. It's the "sleeper" triple, because ordinarily it's steady as a rock, but it got wiped out in the Feb-March 2020 drop. Will such a drop ever happen again? Don't know. Probably.

I wish I'd sold - or at least trimmed - NAIL when it hit 114. Now I'm out of it. HD and LOW of course I'll keep. I'll get back into NAIL when it looks like a buy. Its two bigger holdings are Lennar and DR Horton. They are down today as well.

There's no need to buy every day.
