Nice recovery but I saw it lol.
And the Twins send Nellie to Tampa Bay. That wasn't hard to see coming six weeks ago. I'm gonna miss him.
He was fun to watch when he was here in Texas, but cost us a World Series ring by his half assed attempt at a fly ball that fell for a hit.

Expect the talent to start leaving the Rangers any day now in a fire sale. Though being on a 9 game losing streak, it's hard to justify keeping anyone that could get us any prospects back.

I guess I missed that. He's definitely just a DH now.  The Twins are just a shadow of the 2019 team that broke the team HR record.  Pretty sure we had 8 players hit 20 bombs. I'm not sure we even have an offensive player any team would be interested in trading for other than Polanco.  Buxton maybe but I'm not sure how healthy he is at the moment. The deals will be flying around the league the next few days though.

This play was probably the start of his transition to DH.  Though being 40, I doubt he could even play in the OF now anyways.

His defensive days are long over.  He is beloved in Minnesota.  He is pretty much a hitting coach that can demonstrate his advice.  He showed up and the entire lineup learned to hit for the entire season.  The Twins are even more Hispanic than average so it just worked.  He is the team leader.  The season is a huge disappointment.  Offensive injuries and the pitching is inconsistent.  Kepler has been hurt.  Byron Buxton plays like Willie Mays and you are lucky if he plays six weeks before the next extended injury break.  Just no continuity when you are shuffling new kids in the lineup constantly.

I hate it that I have to settle for division championships but 2019 was really special to watch.  I realize it's about more than power hitting to win it all but 8 guys hitting 20 bombs and at least 4 hitting 30+ was amazing.  That's not likely to happen soon as I think they put the special baseballs away for now.
I loved Cruz, but they made the right move in trading him, and I think they got more for him than they were expecting.

Sounds like both of the pitchers have a good chance at contributing in the next year. A good haul for a 41-year old with an expiring contract.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cruz ends up with the Twins again next year. Unless Rooker blows up as the DH with the AB's he gets in the last two months of the season.
Cruz was perfect trade bait. Owed maybe $6M for half a season. He probably will play next year and one year is all a 42yr old is going to get unless a GM is crazy. He could get traded again next year. I saw a stat and only Bonds and Aaron have more HRs after 35th birthday. DH is a blessing for old players.

Red Sox: first place!
White Sox: first place!
Twins: tied for last place
Astros: first place!
Rangers: last place

Strangely polar, and strangely all AL teams.

Back from vacation, let's check in!

Red Sox: first place!
White Sox: first place!
Astros: first place!
Rangers, Twins: fire sale

I'm really hoping the Red Sox make some big moves before the trade deadline.  We are good, but I think both the White Sox and Astros are better.  Sure Chris Sale will come back at some point, but we could make more improvements than that.

My condolences to fenders and Chad, better luck next year.
You know I wasn't a Ray's fan until just now. Smile
It's been a long year for the Rangers. Until Jon Daniels is fired, I don't see it getting better. Gallo and Gibson gone. Hopefully the prospects we got for them turn out to be good.
