Thanks and congrats to the winners. By far the most competitive any of our contests have been.

I wonder if anybody will even break $60,000 in the 2022 competition.

It won't be easy with the no leverage rule and interest rate hikes.  Just one stock that loses say 10% and it gets tough.  The chance of having that loser stock is pretty high when the SPY isn't running wildly higher.

I’m curious were anyone’s entire portfolios up more than 20% overall in 2021?

We'll ask Ken or Eric to post the final results.  I think we had four ports over 30% in early to mid DEC.

20%: $50,000 x 1.2 = $60,000.  All 7 of the portfolios I calculated final returns for were over that amount by a wide margin.

30%: $50,000 x 1.3 = $65,000. 6 of the 7 portfolios topped this amount as well.

40%: $50,000 x 1.4 = $70,000. kblake was achingly close, but my port managed to top this (45.88%)

I've updated the spreadsheet to show the end of 2021 prices and re-ordered them for the final ranking.

For BPYU I just entered the final price that was shown on Seeking Alpha for when it went private back in July.

Looks like six members beat SPY by at least three percentage points. That's very respectable considering the index had a great year.

We drug tested Ken's port and caught him juicing.  That is the reason we don't allow leveraged ETFs anymore.   Big Grin
