Lol, yeah. I know I'm cherry-picking, but it still makes me laugh: The shares of MO I bought in December 2008 for $14.65 per share (which were yielding 8.74 percent at the time with the $1.28 annual dividend) now are paying $3.36 per share, for a yield on cost of almost 23 percent. I sure wish I had backed up the truck, but I was pretty new to investing in individual stocks at the time and was proceeding cautiously...

Right now I wish I'd never heard of the stock.  Timing affects our perspective lol.  Congrats Kerim.  23% YOC in barely over a decade is just awesome!

Altria is expecting 5% EPS growth in 2019, which will be the lowest EPS growth since it grew by 6% all the way back in 2009.

Management and analysts continue to forecast ~8% EPS growth going forward.

I'm loving the share price drop. With the 7% yield and this year's 5% dividend increase, I'm seeing my income from MO grow by 12% this year after growing by about 25% last year.

I'm hanging in there Eric.  My timing was just very poor on MO  If the Div wasn't so high I'd truly feel sick.

=====

“While the dividend itself is merely a rearrangement of equity, over time it's more like owning an apple tree. The tree grows the apples back again and again and again, and the theoretical value of the tree doesn't change just because of when the apples are about to fall.” - earthtodan

I am lovin' it too.  I'm now a quarter or two away of dividend raises from hitting $500 a year in dividends.

No doubt. I bought about 150 shares around the start of 2015 when it was mid 80’s I think. Dripping has increased the annual payout from just over 500 to what will be around $870 this year.

Got to love the power of compounding!
