I know I'm cherry-picking, but it still makes me laugh: The shares of MO I bought in December 2008 for $14.65 per share (which were yielding 8.74 percent at the time with the $1.28 annual dividend) now are paying $3.36 per share, for a yield on cost of almost 23 percent. I sure wish I had backed up the truck, but I was pretty new to investing in individual stocks at the time and was proceeding cautiously...
Right now I wish I'd never heard of the stock. Timing affects our perspective lol. Congrats Kerim. 23% YOC in barely over a decade is just awesome!
Altria is expecting 5% EPS growth in 2019, which will be the lowest EPS growth since it grew by 6% all the way back in 2009.
Management and analysts continue to forecast ~8% EPS growth going forward.
I'm loving the share price drop. With the 7% yield and this year's 5% dividend increase, I'm seeing my income from MO grow by 12% this year after growing by about 25% last year.
