“While the dividend itself is merely a rearrangement of equity, over time it's more like owning an apple tree. The tree grows the apples back again and again and again, and the theoretical value of the tree doesn't change just because of when the apples are about to fall.” - earthtodan

This one is now on my watch list. I'm a big Vans fan. Stock is down almost $8 on a bad report.

I'd wait until the yield runs over 3%. Almost always happens in a recession with this stock. Consumer apparel always gets dinged hard then.

Really solid company, though. They've grown the dividend for decades through thick and thin, which is very hard to do in that sector.

Any thoughts about current valuation? I've always wanted this one, but never when it was cheap enough for my taste...

V and MA always trade at a premium. Both are core holdings and are stocks you never sell and there is never a bad a time to buy. Of course they are over valued but the street values them differently. You have to pay up for quality growth. You want value then you go with DFS and AXP. But if you want growth V and MA.

I just added to MA at $261.10 this week.

I bought some SBUX right before the close today. Was hoping for a good earnings report. And got a bonus dividend increase.
