What Did You Buy Today?
We now have what were were worried about. Three separate forums just as dead as this one was. We'll get it pulled back together soon I hope. Lot's of lurkers, little attempt at a conversation on any thread. I am just just talking to myself so I may move along soon.
I'm still here!

I'm sure people come here for different reasons. For me socializing is some part of it. I'm not an internet author looking for 1000 views. It's nothing like that. I make an effort to keep some threads a little current. Of course I am not the only one and it is summer. I probably have more free time than most so it's OK if I have half the forum posts some days. A couple posts a week from everybody here that does a daily drive by and the place would be more entertaining and useful.

Just my opinion but I think I am right. Smile
Fenders, there are still a few of us still here on this one. Though I will be MIA next week as I have to head to my parents' house to babysit my dad who just had back surgery as my mom is headed to have her back surgery on Monday. Getting old sucks. Guess I can't gripe too much since they took care of me when I was little. Time to return the favor.

Hopefully you and a few others will still be here when I get back next Friday.
I read here several times a week but my style is really not that interesting. The option trades are rinse and repeat mostly and I don't move in and out of stocks frequently.

Good luck to all.

I hope my thoughts are not being misinterpreted.  I'm really not trying to scold anyone in particular, and definitely not you Chad.  You are VERY helpful on accounting questions, you chat a little on the baseball thread like the rest of the baseball fans.  You don't need a permission slip to go on vacation or attend to important life stuff.   Big Grin There isn't a minimum post requirement but zero isn't helpful. Best wishes to your mother. I've had one and she'll need help for awhile.

Some of you have very busy lives.  Otter posts volumes when he can and isn't here for extended periods.  He does contribute.  Eric posts lots of content even though he can't post every day.

NilesMike apparently thinks he is boring, and granted most of the forum doesn't much care about our option income chatter.  That's fine.  I've learned from him.

I guess I'll try to restate this.  Without a little more daily activity this forum is going to finish dying.  So will the two backup sites.

-The regulars will need to post a few times a week, most every week.  I can see most of you check in so you can invest a couple sentences if you care at all whether this place exists.  You visit so I am guessing you do care some.

-It would be very helpful if lurkers would introduce themselves.  Maybe ask a question just to keep the place relevant.  If they can't then I don't really care if the forum goes away for them.  They can go Google up what they need.

I learn a lot here and enjoy chatting with our small community.  It's just friendlier here and I hope it's got a few more years to run.  I guess I could go to Reddit and learn absolutely nothing, or S.A. and watch arrogant bitter old men slam each other.  Just not for me.  That is why I want this forum to try to save itself.  It doesn't have to be vibrant and perfect, just not on a sure path to the grave and that is exactly where we are headed fast IMO.

We'll see what happens.  It's just an internet stock forum but I kinda like it.
I also don't want this forum to die. I will try to post more than my stock buys and in the baseball thread.
I just need the winning lottery numbers so I can post into this thread more often. Big Grin

i belong to another forum, not financial related--it had a similar issue but a little different. the original forum ceased to exist for various reasons and a couple of guys got together and basically made the same forum--through, basically word of mouth from poster to poster and google a lot of posters found the new forum, not everyone but a lot. the forum still exists--it's pretty good.

Reality is forums are mostly a thing from 10+ years ago.  We now have backups in place and hopefully everyone knows where they are.  No ability to sign up new members here is a big fail so I am glad Divmenow paid for and started a forum that is basically just like this one.  We have a place to land if we keep in touch.
Trimmed CVX and added to LMT on the dip

BABA on watch list. Hoping to buy around $180. Just too much uncertainty there right now
