You may be right about the capital gain tax. I have a feeling a lot of people don't want to pay those penalties. Maybe they all decided to buy properties or rentals? I think we have a ways to go on the downside as well. Just wish I had waited to buy some of those names

I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath. I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares. I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125. If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even. I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap. I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime. I have a ton of cash. I gotta average in sometime. It's a much longer term game for me. I don't liquidate my port and that has worked well. When/if a new position I start dips I'll buy more if the long-term fundamentals it makes sense at that time.(05-12-2021, 11:02 AM)fenders53 Wrote: Added a little more QQQ and AVGO. That happened to me a number of times. It may have been Buffet that said your performance has more to do with your ability to control your emotions than your ability to pick stocks. As long as you buy quality you just need to fight your emotions. Emotional investing has never worked out for me in the end. It's definitely the cause of most of my mistakes. I deployed about 2% of my cash today. Hopefully we get a pullback worthy of bigger investments, but for now we are not a week removed from all-time index highs.

For someone who doesn't like the mome and hype stocks you sure added a few today The sin stocks will outperform this year. So don't ditch them For all those who voted for Biden. You getting what you all deserved Well, thanks to Dementia Joe, this country has gone from completely energy independent to now having gas shortages. Inflation is looming, and the market is on the verge of crashing. I can’t believe we have 3+ more years of this stench And I'm not a political person but we are all doomed. I sold a lot of names today. Not giving back what I worked hard to obtain. I see 15-20 percent more from here. All I kept are my ETf's and a few names. My portfolio now consists if 6 ETF's, 8 stocks and cash reserves. Going to spend the next 6 months smoking week and drinking vodka and watching Bogart movies

Most all of them will do well enough if you don't overpay severely.

MO should be at $75 now and it will eventually. Tech has to go down another 20-25 percent and even then its over valued. This is why being in the high dividend and low beta stocks is more safe. The only tech stocks I have now are AVGO, MSFT and APPL. That's all I need at the moment lol |
