What Did You Buy Today?

I've been building DNP for awhile.  I might make it a full position if the market sells off again.  It's a preferred stock ETF with mostly UTE shares.  The yield is over 7%.  Makes up the income for some of my lower yield UTEs like NEE and XEL.

EXC is my electric company. Nice little stock. I sold out at $49.80 a while ago and would buy again at that $32 range. It's on my rader and had been. PPL not a fan of. The other are great! GL

I hold core positions in most of my UTEs.  This market turned me into a UTE trader so I just flip some extra shares in and out every week or two.  Walking my basis down as none of them are actually bargains now.  PPL is my least favorite but I picked it up cheap and the DIV is good.

My local utilities are EXC and Uncle Warren.  Smile   EXC operates in two of the most corrupt states in the US so it's hard for them to stay out of trouble.
added some PM, ATVI and ABT and GD

I like it. I bought ABT today as initial purchase and will add more if it dips another 3-4 points

I bought GD a bit higher and PM near the bottom. So I'm happy with those purchases

I'm still trying to get in UNP and NSC. They are holding up pretty well
Added a bit of TD. Canadian banks rule Smile
Added to DIS & OZK.
Hey guys its been a while. My wife and I settled on our beach front property last week so she gave me the ok to put the money we saved on settlement back into the market lol. Got to say I'm excited. I really missed it,

I was like a kid in a candy store today lol

Took positions in LHX, LOW, ABT, PM, and WSO
Sold puts on WFC, XOM, QCOM, CAH, OXY

I feel like I'm missing something.  Why are people buying ABT today?  I think I saw 2-3 people say that.  I don't own ABT, but it seems expensive.

Anyone owns biglari holdings? They have more CBRL and Tiffany stocks on their books than the current valuation of company itself. Trading at 1/5 times of assets. Looks too cheap.

Pretty sure I read a note a week or so ago that Biglari was upset with CBRL for some reason.  Did you see any details?  I'll do some looking.

Upset about how CBRL divested from Punch Bowl Social.

Saw that, and he wants a CBRL  board seat.  Several failed attempts in the past I guess.  Worth a read VBIN.  News is from about APR 15th.
I will check that but how does that matters? The point here is that biglari is trading at 1/5th price if the assets they hold. That looks like a deep bargain to me. What am I missing?

ABT is a great company long-term and Pharma is a safe haven right now.  It's as if all of them will cure the virus.  Most will miss out of course.  They are pulling earnings guidance.  I always have a lot of pharma and I bought a lot more on the big drop.  Now I'm overweight so I trim.  Doesn't make ABT a horrible buy today.  I just see better value.  I'll add more ABT some month soon.  These drug stocks dip and rise several times a year. If you never sell then buy stocks when the values happen. Your entry price does matter.

This is what makes the forum very good IMO.  Disagreement seems to be welcomed here as long as you present a thoughtful opinion.  I adjust my positions when I am presented with logical arguments from any of the members.  I'd rather make money than "win the internet" lol.
