What Did You Buy Today?
Picked up some XOM with the drop.
Saw this on twitter this evening, thought I would share:

BofA: "at the intra-day low of 1812 today the S&P 500 was 15% off the highs - half the average recession decline"

Food for thought...
BRK.B yesterday. It trades at 5x cash. That's crazy!
more DOW and MMM
Tiny tiny add to NVU.UN from the Toronto stock exchange.
I picked up RY (97 shares), TD (145) and BNS (126) earlier this week on the dip. Three 1/2 positions adding up to 1.5 positions in Canadian banking; good yields AND growth potential. Normally I'd just pick the strongest company and initiate a single position, but they were all good candidates, and this seemed like a more inventive (and diversified) way to invest here. We'll see :-)
I also added a bit to my position in MAIN, bringing it up to 3/4.

Ronn
Yeah I nibbled on some AXP.
Just added a little bit of IBM. I still think they are going to be fine long-term, and couldn't resist improving my average price per share.
Bought some GE on Friday. The earnings came in quite good and it sold off because if had an 8% decline in it's oil and gas divisions. Once Oil picks up company should see great earnings across the board. Company is doing all the right moves. Love this company going into 2016. Also added more to my WBA, KR and KMB holdings.

On my watch list and getting very tempting to buy CCE, PII, PAYX, DOV and JNJ

Curious as to why you bought IBM? PC sales will be soft for a long time and they have a lot of competition in the cloud space. I get it. It looks cheap. Haven't seen these levels since 2009.  Nice dividend of course but could get cheaper as the tech sector has been out of favor since early 2015.

It could indeed get cheaper, but my crystal ball is still broken, so I'm not going to try to time the bottom or turnaround moment. I liked it at $150 and $140, so I love it at $123 and yielding 4.2 percent. Yes, this company could be doomed, but I personally don't think so. They are still very profitable, even with revenues declining. And the "financial engineering" that everyone sneers at works for me. IBM is not a core holding for me, and I'll watch it much more carefully than my JNJ, and I understand that I could be wrong. But the best buys are when everyone else is negative.
