If that happens I suppose we could just use FEB 1st for your start date when we calculate. A little over a quarter of the year through the competition, I wanted to check in and see what I put. RETL - 137.33% year to date return ORC - 20.5% year to date return, along with its dividend KMI* - 21.6% year to date return, along with its dividend ABBV - only minor growth as it zig zags all over the place USDP** - 73.4% year to date return So far, so good, and that's not even counting the sky high dividends * I completely forgot about this stock and forgot to buy it; oops!! ** Still not worth schedule K hassle RE: 2021 Perfect Portfolio Competition - fenders53 - 04-14-2021 You are killing it! We'll get everyone updated soon. Definitely a better Q1 than 2020. Time to check how we have done in the first half. I'm glad to see that everyone is in the green! It doesn't look like this spreadsheet is taking dividend reinvestment into account. For instance, ORC may be exactly flat; $5.22 on 12/31/2020 and $5.22 now, but that 14%+ dividend is why it was listed in the first place. RE: 2021 Perfect Portfolio Competition - fenders53 - 06-30-2021 Thanks for updating. Ken is killing it with RETL. Everyone is doing fine if this were real life. There are only like four stocks down on the entire list. That is pretty impressive. Long live the bull market. At least until JAN 31st. I am doing FAR worse than my real life port. The opposite of the last year or two. WAY too complicated. Dividends are only considered at all in the event of a tie breaker per our rules. Trying to keep this simple since it's just for fun. Spinoffs and other shenanigans could make it hard. We deal with that if it's actually that close at the end. I will remind you of the Stock returns with dividend reinvestment calculator website. I just plugged ORC in since 12/30/2020: starting with $10,000, it is now $10,700.43. But no worries like you said it's all for fun anyway. Of course dividends do matter but the first two years our contest wasn't very close, and you are killing us so far this year. We'll mop it up and make sure we have the top 5 right.(06-30-2021, 02:08 PM)fenders53 Wrote:(06-30-2021, 02:03 PM)ken-do-nim Wrote:(06-30-2021, 01:56 PM)crimsonghost747 Wrote:(01-14-2021, 03:16 PM)EricL Wrote: Please check this list over to make sure I have everyone, and that everyone's picks are entered correctly. |
