BHP can't be much behind on a cut or suspension.

  • Boeing (BA -1.1%) is up 0.9% after hours following a move to bump its dividend 20%, and an increase in its repurchase authorization to $14B total.
  • Some $5.25B had remained on the company's prior buyback authorization, which was for $12B last December. This year's buybacks are complete after Boeing repurchased $6.75B.
  • The new $14B authorization replaces the former one, and the company expects to resume buybacks in January.
  • The dividend increase marks the fifth straight year with a raise.

That's an ok raise -- I'll take it.

Another steady year or two and the dividend will be back to the level it was back when I bought the shares in 2008! Tongue

I bought the shares for $16.22 each with a dividend of $1.28, for a starting yield of 7.89 percent. With this recent raise, my yield on cost is back up to 7.4 percent.
