You had me until you said on the way up  Big Grin

I hope we can hold these gains today. We could all use a positive day. Any positive in general

BA back up to $116 pre/market. I still haven’t bought it. My 52 week low list is a mile long. Can’t buy them all lol

Absolutely, the buy list is a mile long!

Since I very rarely sell, the last two sells I remember was Target and Google--both mistakes...biggest most financial mistake was RedHat....Oh...I did sell IBM just don't remember when. I don't think I had any sells in the last three maybe 4 years--I can't remember.

I guess another way of looking at this situation is that I'm buying through it, there's a beginning--a middle--and a end...history has proven it makes a "V" it might be a jagged lop-sided "V" but it's usually a "V" a very choppy "V"....That's why I buy through it.
Depends on one's definition of a V.  The two major bear markets of my investing career took a long time to return to a new SP500 ATH.   The tech bubble took about 7 years and the GFC about 6 years.  I was born at the perfect time to catch three major bear markets before age 60.  Investing more money as you are doing Ray is the only thing that saved me. This is the stuff that wrecks retirement plans if you get scared out or your asset allocations are inappropriate.  I remember when there was a big push to invest the Social Security funds in equities.  Yeah maybe that's not a great idea since 401Ks are already there for most.
Faded this rally near the opening highs. I couldn't type fast enough to trim some of these recent dividend cancels that spiked today much to my surprise. If it's not a core position and I was lucky enough to be up I'm gone, or at least trimming. I'll regroup and wait for the next sale I believe is coming soon enough. Trying to stick to the plan with the long-term part of my port which is 80% of my equities. (It needs to be 90%) I definitely need to shorten up my equity list if the market will allow it. This rally was an unexpected gift.
Sold my CBRL this morning on the dividend suspension.

Will likely sit on the proceeds for a few days to reevaluate, as I think we will see a retest of the lows again.

I don't know about retesting the panic low because the bad news is now out, but it's not staying up here.  I do hope Divemenow isn't a bad influence on you Eric.   Big Grin   I hope you don't think I am day trading a significant amount of my port because I absolutely am not.  But you gotta work with whatever the market and economy is dealin'.  Every crash is different and this one brought historical volatility.  It's been easy to move from one sector to the other with the ebb and flow of 10% swings.  Sometimes it's obvious you can very likely avoid further capital loss.  Even if you don't catch the actual bottom on a CBRL re-entry, it's highly likely you can own a few more shares.  I've done that repeatedly the past few weeks. This isn't as obvious as the UTE impending UTE decline, but $100 isn't the near-term bottom for CBRL. I wish it was because I still have plenty of shares.  CBRL will return to 125+ and pay dividends, but it's highly likely to be a rollercoaster.  You know that of course. You can do something as easy as sell CBRL at 100 and buy back at 90 and still be better off when the dividend comes back, and it will. They said "deferred" for a reason. They know they are a mature restaurant chain and have to pay a dividend as soon as possible. If they have to borrow a billion of near zero money they will do that.

and the Guru throws down lol....  I'm jealous you caught that ULTA dip.  I looked at it hard WAY higher than here.  Don't know what's holding me up.  My wife spends enough there every Christmas to put me in the poor house.  I need to get onboard lol.

I'm still selling today.
Many small (1-2 shares each) orders went through for KO (10 shares of that one), CSCO, DIS, GD, GSK, BRK/B, HBAN, MRK, PFE, RSG, and UNM.
I've sold or at least trimmed the following fine companies today.

BP-CBRL-FUN-HON-DAL-TXRH-O-DIS-AMZN

Sold a few covered calls as well, all expiring Friday. Need my weekly $500 free cash fix lol. I'll roll them forward a few weeks if the market keeps flying higher which I highly doubt. I smell a bulltrap. The market was historically oversold.

A lot on my buy list but it can wait a few days.

I bought DIS today and you sold it.  This is how there's a market.
