And today added to WBA, QCOM. I think I'm done with purchases for Q1 unless something shiny comes along.
I decided to take my profits and sold entire stake in CAT, if it has a major downturn and drops into the 50s/60s I may go back in, but I'm satisfied selling this one for the time being. I have no complaints owning this stock; however, with the current headwinds and being in my regular brokerage account (I try to keep it tax efficient) it was ok for this one to go for now.
Adds: LOW, JNJ, WTR, OA
New buy: AMAT
added to TD and GILD
Opened TD today. Never had a Canadian stock in my portfolio before, I'm really curious how dividend payment will look like in practice.

You are American?  Foreign dividends will probably still hit your account in USD.

Here's what BNS has looked for me since I bought it in 2013 (all in US$):

There have been no additions to my holdings during this time period except for reinvested dividends. I bought when the US and Canadian dollars were much closer to par. So between the reinvestments and forex fluctuations, you can see the dividends received (the 'Cost' column) fluctuating. You'll also see I skipped the April 2016 dividend reinvestment; that's during the period I was collecting dividends as cash.

If I were retiring tomorrow and estimating what my income from BNS would be, I'd estimate receiving $40/quarter and ignore the currency fluctuations going forward. Considering the current exchange rate is close to the 30 year average, the amounts received will bounce around the final amount shown.

Hopefully when I get closer that amount will be much higher.

I'm a Hungarian living in Hungary, just to make things easySmile Until now after every dividend I paid the 15% US tax. Now I'm kind of confused if it's going to be the same 15% or the Canadian dividend tax.

for that you need to check the tax treaty between Hungary and Canada. But yes, it'll probably be 15%.
Picked up some more shares of TGT today.
