Retirement Forum
#1
Just a thought but I was wondering if we should add a forum titled Retirement Planning (or words to that effect).

Seeing as DGI is our chosen means to that end, perhaps this "sub" forum could be a place to discuss some of the other aspects that pop up in other discussions (SS, pensions, IRA's, 401K's, housing/mortgage/planning, health insurance, etc....)

Another thread on MPT morphed into this type of discussion so it got me thinking.

Those in retirement would have a great deal of "been there, done that" advice, those approaching retirement would be heavily into the research phase (Moi'), and those just starting out might be able to tweak their retirement plan from the conversations.

Again, just a thought.

Happy Mother's Day

Please keep our Gold and Blue Star Mom's (and Dad's) in your prayers today.

Cheers,

Happy to accommodate -- do others think that such a sub-forum might get used?

This would be a good section to discuss such things cost of medical insurance in early retirement.

Agreed.  There are a lot of investing/finance factors to discuss that are specific to retirement.  Would be good to isolate them, and this new sub-forum wouldn't take away from the DGI forums that we already have.

Will this forum have rockin' chairs and a checker board?

This would be a great addition to the Forum, IMHO. After all, we're all here to gain knowledge and help each other get to that retirement finish line, the Golden Years.

Holy Smokes...what's next?
