Apple will now be part of the DJIA. AT&T gets the boot from the list.

Interesting news. I think many expected the AAPL addition, but I'm not sure how many thought it would come at the expense of ATT. Seems like the price action of each today is pretty muted. I would have expected somewhat larger swings on the news.

+2.25% on a $700B+ company is nothing to sneeze at

Gotta keep that DJIA growing...

Yeah I didnt expect AT&T to go. I was expecting IBM to get kicked. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that AT&T has been a "dog of the dow" for years and viewing the telecoms almost like a utility company now.

I have invested in Apple for a long time. In fact, my dividend growth portfolio was funded with the gains from Apple calls during the 2009-2012 time period.

Apple shares are now a slightly overweight position in our dividend growth portfolio, and I returned to investing in Apple calls and LEAPs last Januaury.
