This one made me smile.  I've been waffling a bit in my decision to make LHX a core holding or not.  I have been leaning two defense stocks. I think they just talked me into it.

Nice dividend raise, and a buyback announcement for 16% of their market cap ain't too shabby either!

The are solid and everything they sell doesn't cost $50m a copy. As much as I like LMT and RTX, you can build a lot of infrastructure for the price of their war toys. I don't have a clue if defense spending gets frozen or reduced, but many LHX products cost sane amounts of money by comparison and the programs make less impressive PowerPoint slides when you are looking for something obscenely expensive to trim. It will be an interesting few years and they will all do OK until the next election if the current administration is not friendly.

As you guys probably know, I am a big fan of LHX. Especially at the current price.

-The merger synergies seem to be going even better than expected.

-A good product mix of things of the future. Communications, sensors, space technology etc.

-Fairly valued and while the dividend is quite small (around 2%), I think it's safe to expect a MINIMUM of 10% increase each year for years to come. 10% per year is a careful estimate, as you can see it was 20% this year and they can certainly keep that going too if they wish for quite a while. And they have been buying back absurd amounts of stock recently, though these buyback levels might have to calm down a bit in a year or two.

A current 2% dividend that grows at 10% is the definition of DGI in my mind. An aristocratic raising a mediocre dividend 2% to stay on a list not so much. What LHX is doing should put a floor under the SP. And if not I guess it will be paying a better current yield for new investments.
