Patience is good.  I am hoping we get a chance to pounce.  I got lucky cleaning up small positions and the timing worked out so some nibbles can happen while I hope I get my price for bigger buys.  That has failed me before though, so nibbling is a nice consolation prize.  I've been lucky this year but I have no clue what the market does in a month.  I hope young investors ignore me and buy a little extra on the  dips, and go easy on the market timing.  That's what I did and if worked out fine.

I have to admit it's fun trying to out smart the market with some of my money.


I’m always investing my 401(K) catch up max thru thick n thin but have a nice piggy bank from a RE sale to place when the time is right. Patience is good!

That's a great idea. You can retire when you are 52 or 92 depending on how it works out lol.  

Looks like the bull left the building while I typed that last post.  It's probably best we get this out of the way. I much prefer a 10% correction now and then to a 50% crash later.

I did some portfolio recycling today.

Closed $HII (laggard) and $UPS (overvalued, low conviction).

Used the proceeds to initiate $SCHD at $74.43, almost 3% yield (ex-div tomorrow).

Increased PADI from $6,974 to $6,991

I own SCHD but I wont be adding until the mid 60's. Lots of slow growers in its top 10. MRK and VZ have been disappointments. 

UPS not that over valued when compared to most. 23 forward PE not bad. HII one of the best value stocks to buy right now  Big Grin PE of 10 and yield of almost 2.5%. What's not to like lol

Anyway good luck. I added some ATO, CI, ABBV, GD, VFC and LEG as well today
