What go up comes down harder. It's a joke on what this market has become. Nothing more then a rigged market for all the rich in office to profit from.

I added to UNH, VOO, AMD, AAPL, CVX, and MUR

It's my fault because I had the audacity to post last night that I enjoyed yesterday's rally...

Yup it’s all your fault lol. Next time shit it Wink

The Government I think are trying to get all the dead beats to go back to work instead of trying to trade for a living, They are forcing you back to work ;Wink No more easy money is going to be made. There going to wipe out everyone that trades and all those momo stocks like AMC and GME. At least now you have to invest and stay in for 5-10 yeass. It’s going to take you that long to break even lol

I have been near my ATH only twice since about JAN 3.  A couple Thursdays ago and now.  I retired last month so I have to be careful.  My port has been mostly defensive for a year now, and is usually at least 25% cash so I can nobble.  I sell covered calls against my entire port for some time now.  I have trimmed the few rallies and bought extreme oversold conditions.  Mostly though it's just been put income cancelling out modest losses on my long positions.  And oil, oil has been a big winner.  If the market goes full bull for real I will miss much of the fun.  That hasn't been a problem lately.

EDIT: OK, It's getting closer to -1% now. This is the roughest day in recent memory. Yesterday was so happy lol.

I don’t smoke or like what they stand for, but I’m im making money, so I can look past all of this lol. It’s been one of the best performers in 2022. What’s not to like. All those that sold at 45-50 are kicking themselves Wink
I don't judge others.  My wife smokes like a chimney.  I made money on MO but left around 50 because I don't want to deal with the regulatory drama.  Not to mention their horrible M&A for awhile.  I don't miss it because the same money could be found easy enough after the market corrected.  I might buy MO again when it gets hammered, and it will.

ha you and your crystal ball ; You have no idea what it will do so don’t make predictions lol

Haha good one. Fenders and his crystal ball. No on knows what MO or any stock will do. MO is a very good company and will do great in times like this. Fenders missed the run and is now talking it down to buy cheaper. Sounds like another Cramer  Big Grin

MO was my first stock ever and a central pillar of my portfolio since I started it. But as I said in a separate thread a bit ago, I'm more worried about it now that I've ever been. Cash flow seems fine, but they've been underwater on EPS vs dividend for several years now as they work off the Juul debacle. I haven't sold any, but these recent prices have tempted me to sell a few calls against some of my shares. I haven't done it yet, and I'm hoping the financials will improve in coming quarters, but I'm keeping a close eye on it.

MO is probably a top five rough market stock. I would be interested on a dip and it's OK if that's not soon. I would like to think they won't burn anymore shareholder capital with M&A. Maybe the government will even leave them alone but I am far less confident of that.

WTH happened to UA? I had some success swing trading that last year around $20. Yeah I could do my own DD but it just caught me off guard.

Added some JPS. It's a preferred stock fund and my only highish income play until the rest correct. Sold it 20% ago and now nibbling it back gradually.

Wow, I had UA shares back around 2016 when it was around $40/share. One of my non-regrets...

The brand is still good IMO but they will always be in the Nike shadow.  The market is harsh and consumer discretionary stocks are getting murdered for months now.  I am sure that is much of it.

Thanks to the ministration and the powers to be my husband and I have decided to pull out the market and sell everything. We will be putting it all in a annuity at 3-4% a year. There is no reason to stay in any longer. 23 years was long enough. So much has changed and I have gone through so many ups and downs. But this time it’s different and it’s no longer based on merits. My husband is quite happy making 4% a year before retirement and we worked too hard to lose our hard earned money. It’s no longer an investment and it’s turned into a side show. I know you will backlash me but it’s the decision we have made. Thanks all for the last 4 years. It’s been fun.

I don't blame you. Its a mess right now and like others have been saying. It's being controlled by the bots. The market is a casino. You cant even invest in the safety names at this point.  This will become the biggest market crash since 1929. The Fed and powers to be ruined it. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they shorted and when there done playing games will decide when to go long. This administration only looks out for themselves. The fed had plenty of time to get in front of this and took there good old time. Seems fishy to me.

There are some stocks I own that go down 3 points on a 100 share trade. I have level 2 and can see all that's happening.

So I don't blame you for getting out. 3-4% will look good in 2 years with this administration  Big Grin

We will miss you for sure.  You have to find your comfort zone.  A 3-4% annuity is actually very good.  That hasn't been possible for awhile. Rough markets always wash people out. This game isn't easy. And at times it is just that, a game.

Don't go. Please stay in touch. Mayne buy a few penny stocks just to stay interested lol

I was looking at investing in safer ways to make money. That's great on the annuity. Inbox me so I can buy as well  Sad

I'm also looking at preferred shares as well just to collect the dividend.

Today I did add to UPS, ORI, BX. HD and AEP

Bought KTOS, COIN and SQ in my trading account

JPS isn't a terrible way to do that.  It is a Nuveen preferred ETF that's yielding over 7%.  If you buy it when rates are rising and the fund is falling, you can even get some capital appreciation eventually.  You wouldn't have to sell it but I do when it creeps above $9.50.  I start accumulating shares when it is under $8.  Under $7.60 now.  Hoping it goes even lower with rate hikes coming.
