What Reopening the Economy May Look Like
#10
I think the recovery will be choppier than the market seems to think, by a wide margin. I see the HD district sales by store. It is all over the map. We lead the district by a wide margin. Nobody is even closer than 20%. Some stores are very mediocre. Even in this non-locked down state our local small biz got hit pretty hard even though big box is thriving. IMO the market would meltdown fast if they tighten up monetary policy or stop printing fake money. It isn't going to surprise me if we eventually learn GDP growth was approximately zero from 2019 to 2023. We should be thankful if it isn't negative. But I still hear people saying Q2 2020 growth was a record 30%+!. On average, most people are too economically ignorant to even have an opinion.
