I agree with all your comments - I have felt exactly the same way: that its a self-fulfilling prophecy. Ive always wondered why a stock would trace a line, how does it account for external events that a company has no control over, the whole double top, shoulders, etc never made sense to me. We humans always try to find patterns in things that dont really exist 
I was curious to find out if others felt the same way and looks like the DGI has a collective "No" for the answer. I was wondering if there was something more to it that I didnt understand.
