I personally feel one does not need a large number of holdings, in fact we have only 18 stocks in all of our portfolio's. Most would consider this risky and certainly not diversified, but we are extremely happy with the income they produce and the growth. When we were in the accumulation phase we didn't have to search far & wide, just added to our existing holdings when the price was right.
