I really like the business (thats why I bought it)...I have a very small position and looking to add more shares in the coming months.
Here are the two posts on my blog about BIP and some of the reasons I outline. I know some people are not fans of over-diversification on a global scale - but I look forward to such things in my investments and have a bit of a bias.

The Brookfield set of companies (BAM, BPY, BIP, BEP etc) have an extremely complicated structure, but from what I can tell each component runs independently. I think BAM was caught up in the Brazil PBR corruption scandal, although I havent read into it closely.
The other company that stands out in the infrastructure segment is: Macquarie Infrastructure Corp (MIC).
See their assets listed here: http://www.macquarie.com/dafiles/Interne...ntials.pdf
