So I'm going to grab a few today, and stay ready should even better opportunities arise in the near future. (FWIW, Tim McAleenan's recent writings on GOOG gave me an extra push on this.)

Heh, "small" is all relative.  I decided to come up with "official" terminology for my position sizes a while back:

$1 - $500 watch position
$501 - $1000 starter position
$1001 - $2499 junior position
$2500 - $4999 moderate position
$5000 - $7499 full position
$7500 - $9999 large position
$10000 - $19999 major position
$20000+ principal position

5 shares of Google in my portfolio would be a Major Position, and probably my largest non-ETF one too.

Dare to dream?  If Tuesday doesn't erase the gains, May will be my first up month of the year.

Only thing that can slow GOOGL down is reduced ad revenue and I consider that a problem resolved in a year.  My largest tech position.

Just a geeky thing, but in analyzing my dividend returns over the weekend, I realized that I finally achieved each month getting at least $500 in dividends. July and January are my two lowest months, but have now crested over to $502.13 each. Huzzah!

Used my unspent cash from selling WHR a little while back plus accumulated dividends to add LYB at $115.88. At least 2/3 of the shares are temporary to collect the dividends. The other third could take me to a full position if I want, which I may.

I find this sort of dividend harvest much easier when it's with a stock I like. Not gonna break my heart if I get stuck with an overweight position in it for a while. Not saying buying to hold it temporarily just for the big upcoming payout is wrong. It's just not something I would likely do.

Goals kept me investing through some painful and sometimes extended periods.  Never stop reaching for the eventual victory.
