Ok, so I've made a few tweaks to the structure of the site. As suggested, I've dropped the "launching the site" stuff and put those threads into a new "housekeeping" area. And I've moved the housekeeping and off topic stuff down below the main investing discussion areas. Also added an "introduce yourself" area, though I'm not sure it will get used. Can always drop it if it stays empty.
I'll look into adding an "overview" section as Alex has suggested. Maybe I'll look at some other forum sites and see how they handle that.
