Sold a MDT put at 112. Most of my shares got called in last week on the spike past 114 so 112 sounds good with a new option premium for my trouble. Sold a covered call on MRK. This one puts me to sleep. My MRK calls never get exercised and I'm just stuck looking at it go nowhere. I should learn to sell shares like normal people. Smile

Bought some MCD in my sons account. I haven’t seen a dip like this in a while so why not lol

What Did You Buy Today? - vbin - 12-02-2020

Sold out BP, keeping profit as free units. Have a lot of oil and I am a little skeptical of the moves given year end and too many good news. Any bad news on stimulus can send it in free fall. Sold 2 cron puts.

The folks buying oil on this thread are trading it.  If you grabbed some cheaper shares on the bottom then nothing wrong with skimming some fast profits while you can.  Especially if you are overweight oil now.  This isn't the last time oil will get beat up before this is over.  I doubt anybody riding the current oil momo would disagree.  I am giving mine the raised eyebrow but most of what I have left is in ENB and a bit less subject to oil price swings.

I think its a bad mistake selling BP here. Its the most punished sector on the planet and fun managers have been buying the last few weeks. Not saying your wrong, but the truth is no one knows where its headed or the market. Its all a gamble. But I just feel like stocks like BP, CVX and XOM have a long way to go up just to get back to fair value. We shall see

Where are all the cheerleaders who bought PLTR, U and WKHS on here? They have been hit hard in recent days. Are you adding?

These stocks wont see any profits for years and they were all bid up on impulse. Give me FCX and VALE who are in a uptrend and and will have a profitable next few years.

I have a lot of oil in my port tons of XOM, OXY, XLE DCP, PSXP, PHX, WES, CLB. I agree that BP will be back to $40 in next few years(may be months, who knows). I made some quick money in BP. Will buy again if it drops 5% or more. For the purpose of learning, how do you know fund managers been buying BP? Is it purely based on momentum or is there a resource you refer to?

I have PLTR, Mostly bought at ~9 and some at ~15. Anyone who believed that the casino we saw in PLTR will sustain would be a fool. Selling PLTR or not depends on what's your investment theory. Are you in for a quick trade or you believe in the company long term. I strongly believe in the tech space, problem and business model PLTR is in. That's why dint sell out at $33. If it drops ~15, I might add more.

If I bought in at $9 I would have sold in a heartbeat  Big Grin There was no way this company is worth $33 at this point without justification. It would have been nice to sell at $33 and buy back at $20 today. I agree future looks bright, but the market was pricing it in for 2023+ lol. This will be a big winner for sure. Just need to be priced right is all. $18-20 is about right. I bought some at $21 today but only a small position and will average down cheaper.

As a matter of fact I do. I look at the top OIL etfs and fund that own them and see what they bought in the last month.

The top 10 biggest buys buy funds and ETF'S were BP, XOM, CVX, VLO, PSX, WLL and CNQ. RDS and PE. In that order
