Just love Timmy's THI - Robandcindy2 - 07-16-2014

OK, I am really a Starbucks man. In fact, as the joke goes..."Why can't airline pilots donate blood? Because it comes out "cream and sugar". "

That said, I always look forward to hitting Tim Horton's when we visit our daughter who is attending college up in Maine.

Terrific service, pretty good coffee (not Starbucks, Eh?), good sandwiches, clean stores and as I said...good service.

THI, might be a tad overpriced...not sure but I'm looking for a cyclical I like.

Hmmm, missed this Rob.

I too like Timmie's. (Which one Canuck told me a long time ago is the Canadian national flower since it seems to pop up on every street.) I used to attend conferences in Toronto and Montreal when the exchange rate was about US$1=Cad$1.50 and often stopped at Timmie's for a coffee or quick meal.

Almost bought it in the Great Recession but something shiny distracted me. I should have because it's been a steady grower since.

Now with the BK inversion buyout, I'm afraid they're going to be lumped in with a second-rate fast food behemoth.

I have never been a Timmy's person myself and thought that the coffee there is weak and cant understand how people even drink that. But then I realize that I am being a snob - Timmys is a temple here in Canada and every single one is crowded always. Another sad personal story for me as I thought about buying it a few months ago and like DW said, something shiny distracted me.

However, I dont think the BK buyout will change anything - as far as the consumers go. It didnt change a thing when Wendys owned it and it wont change now that BK owns it. People will go get their cuppa tims and timbits everyday.

Add one more to the list of stocks to pick up during the next recession Smile
