ChadR's Portfolio - ChadR - 11-02-2013 The Oct 15 deadline has passed and I finally have time to post my portfolio. VBIIX is a bond fund that is pre DGI and I'll most likely sell after the first of the year. WIN I keep selling calls against it until I lose it. Though really hard not to like the quarterly dividend. Right now I have $9 Jan calls against it. The cash secured put is against ARCP that has a Jan date. That almost looks like some kind of model dividend growth portfolio. A well-diversified list of best of breed dividend payers. I don't see anything in there that I would quibble with. (If you forced me to, I'd say more Altria, but I almost always say more Altria!) RE: ChadR's Portfolio - ChadR - 11-03-2013 Thanks Kerim. I also think that I need more Altria, but the only thing keeping me from getting more is that I'm at nearly 9% with Phillip Morris. RE: ChadR's Portfolio - fiveoh - 11-04-2013 Very nice portfolio. Are you just adding to your current positions or still adding new companies? RE: ChadR's Portfolio - ChadR - 11-04-2013 Thanks fiveoh. I'm doing both. I plan on having around 50 positions once it is all said and done. So adding new companies will slow down. ARCP will be added in Jan (assuming that my put is exercised). Other than that, I probably won't have any new positions until sometime next year. Though if a few companies that I am watching drop low enough, I will be adding them. It's getting hard for me not to buy any IBM with it at $180. If it drops below $170, and I have some money available, I will be adding it. RE: ChadR's Portfolio - ChadR - 12-02-2013 Another month has passed and I'll update my portfolio. November and December are bad months for having addtional money to invest. With property taxes and getting everything I need for the upcoming year for my business very little excess cash. Not much activity this month. $289.41 of dividends reinvested. Also started a Loyal3 account with $100. I bought 10 stocks at $10 apiece. The stocks were KO, DPS, HAS, INTC, MCD, MSFT, PEP, TGT, UL, WMT. This account was started to see how I liked it. Hard not to like no fees for buying or selling. Also the main reason is that I plan to use it as a teaching tool for my two young kids to stress the importance of dividend investing and investing in general. Partly why I have 3 beverage companies, 2 retail stores, a toy company, and a restaurant. Hopefully I can teach them at a young age the magic of compound interest.
