RE: What I Am Buying Today. - stockguru - 04-28-2022

I'm afraid AAPL and AMZN is going to tank on earnings. Too much of a big up day today in this kind of market. Lets see what happens. Give me some better buying ops Wink

I knew it lol. AMZN terrible. I will get ready to buy at 2,000  Big Grin

Next up is APPL.... Show of hands. Up or down  Tongue

INTC down big.. AMD the clear winner here

RE: What I Am Buying Today. - fenders53 - 04-28-2022

There are a couple different releases for INTC and one of them looks fake.

I think AMZN has hit the wall for awhile. Just too big for all these headwinds. Glory days may be over. Pretty much flat for 24 months.

No idea on AAPL but they will get by with it anyway.

There's no good reason to be in a stock like INTC. Well not unless you want to lose money lol

This is 2 quarters in a row AMZN has missed big. This will be under 2k at some point. Finally the street sees the light and is basing it on valuation. Took them 15 years  Big Grin

I dont care how low tech goes or how high. At my age now I'm buying safety over high overvalued growth.

AAPL will go red. 4 to 8 billion dollar shortage on revenues for guide. Supply change issues is the theme. Not good.

There's some nice bargains out there and none are tech  Big Grin

Dearest Guru,

You are starting to get boring. Smile

Sorry you missed the AMZN ride for 15 years. (OK I missed most of it too)    I agree the run should be over for now.

I own GOOGL and that's about it for tech.  I will be rich and you can't stop me.  I do swing trade QQQ when it gets oversold, like a couple days ago.  INTC is just a boring dividend stock at this point.

Welcome back to oil.  I knew you would realize your error soon enough.

Write back soon.   Smile

Worst day ever in 25 years. Lost 40k today. Ouch

I think the computer bots were at work today. Seriously!! I heard numerous reports today. This is what happens when you have computers acting as the market maker. This is why the young kids say it's rigged.

I spent all my cash 2 days ago. So I have no choice but to stay the course. I own great companies that will take a while to comer back. Maybe years Wink These are dividend payers at 2.5%. Maybe in 5 years they will be ahead. Who knows.

I cant tell you how many &P stocks I own that hit news lows today and none of them are tech. I only own about 1% tech.

I had added CMCSA, CMI, SCHW, CM, SWK, AOS and others, . It's easy to loss 40k in a day when you hold 100-500 shares of each company.

Worst April in 22 years … Thanks Joe Wink

BTW did Ken jump out a window yet. He's got to be getting crushed like me Wink

RE: What I Am Buying Today. - crimsonghost747 - 04-30-2022

Brutal day. I want more of these. Give me like 5-10 more days like this and then I'll start buying for real.
But it looks like my main portfolio had a monthly performance of 0.00% in April. A pretty flat month I'd say. Big Grin

There is a bit more to this story though. My base currency is EUR, so all statistics, performance history etc. are calculated in euros. Of course my holdings decreased in value if comparing in USD, but the change in the currency exchange rate made up for it. The euro is going down the drain (as it probably should. The FEDs stupidity with interest rates and their balance sheet pales in comparison to what the ECB is doing), and while it makes my portfolio performance look good it's not exactly a great situation for me. If this continues we might as well start using 5 EUR notes as toilet paper here.

Hang in there.  I don't think I have ever had a -40K day but definitely some -40K weeks through the years.  It's good you have dividend payers.  That will help with the recovery if this goes on for long.  Unfortunately there is no way to know if we are only halfway corrected.  Covid crash took me down $150K and it took nearly a year to fully recover.  I let it run awhile last year then had to get in retirement mode.  I cut way back on my long positions and my port is very defensive.  I own a lot of oil, and my long positions have covered calls sold against them.  I use a lot of my money to back up covered put sells.  I have time to stare at the computer all day and take profits on the volatility this year.  I have been clearing about $10K/month in option income this year. More than that during MAR/APR.  Sounds pretty good right?  Not good enough, I am still down 3% off all-time high.  I was at ATH last THU.  It lasted about 15 minutes.  Last THU-FRI I got destroyed in a day and a half.  This week down only .7% but option income shielded the losses again.

RE: What I Am Buying Today. - fenders53 - 04-30-2022

Ken,

Congrats on PEGA earnings. I am glad your employer saw the light and decided to stop hiding their profits. This will help with recovery when the market gets out of this sour mood.

Finished out my position in GNRC and sold a covered call. Added some JSP. Rebuilding that highish yielder position now that it has corrected. Targeting MAIN and ARCC on a bit more dip.
