Starting out - david93 - 07-21-2019 Hey everyone, Just found this forum last month and thought I would let everyone know I'm here. I havent posted on any of the other topics yet but I've read through alot. I originally wanted to invest in real estate and own rental properties but because im based abroad 11 months of the year I thought it would complicate my life to much and potentially be a disastrous investment. so I was doing some research and liked the idea of REITs though I only go after the publically traded REITs and then I got to thinking why only have REITs when other dividend investing stocks exist and the more I search things the more I find and that's what led me to this forum so i hope i can one day contribute more to the discussions but I also enjoy just reading what others have to say. Don't be afraid to share your ideas and thoughts even if you are new to this! RE: Starting out - kblake - 09-05-2019 I just joined this forum. I have been looking for a site like this for a long time. I'm excited to read what you all invest in, learn and talk about stocks. It's a great passion of mine. Lets see; I have been investing since 1992. My portfolio consists of 38 stocks, 7 etf's and 5 mutual funds. I buy only when i see a bargain and don't chase stocks. Some of the names I own are HD, LOW, WMT, SO, NEE, JNJ, PEP, UNP, APD, MCD, AMGN and APPL Thanks all RE: Starting out - fenders53 - 09-05-2019 Welcome to the forum David. I do real estate. Don't even think about being a landlord if you are away 11 months a year. That will end really bad. |
