I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath. I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares. I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125. If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even. I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap. I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime. My spec stocks are tearing it up as I caught near bottom onn most of them (for now). 2021 has been incredible. I got beat up worse than the market last March. We have our good times and our bad. No buys today. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 05-26-2021 That's great news Fenders. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 05-27-2021 VSTO has gone a little Momo for me this week. Launching again today. I knew the analyst upgrades would come eventually. Closing my options for a nickel today but I'll keep the shares. Still needs to run 25% to hit fair value fundamentals. Averaging up a few months ago worked this time. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - stockguru - 05-27-2021 Sold VSTO. Made a nice $1500 in a short period of time. Put the proceeds in VPU RE: What Did You Buy Today? - EricL - 05-27-2021 Sold my trading position in DG this morning and bought ETHE with the proceeds. Will now let GBTC and ETHE ride and see where they go from here. The two combine for roughly ~1% of my net worth, so I have some exposure if crypto keeps growing. Still keeping DG in my dividend growth portfolio as I like the company long-term. Earnings were good this morning and they raised guidance. I'd think the expanded child tax credit kicking in this July should help sales as well. Made a nice $1500 in a short period of time.Very pleased to hear that. I was hoping you didn't dump it when you decided to smoke weed and watch Bogart films all summer. No kidding I was chilling in a hotel room doing stock research last summer while my wife was gambling. I told her I don't have to like it but the DEMs are going to take the Whitehouse and maybe the Senate. I started buying some shares in Ruger and Vista Outdoors that day because history shows nobody like sells guns and ammo like blue politicians. Told her if it worked out I would buy her a new Ruger pistol as we like to target shoot. Actually all the rioting was making her nervous and we were ten miles Minneapolis at the time. I later figured out little VSTO was making a move on cornering the ammo market. It happened and up $9K+ on smallish purchases since then. Wish I could do this every year. I am out of guns but VSTO will likely go past $50 when they crush earnings again. You still can't find bullets even after they keep raising prices. Same story with solar but the return rate isn't this good as I was late. BTW I should go order the pistol today. Four month wait last I checked. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - divmenow - 05-27-2021 Added ABBV and CVX I continue to add to these names. Fits the theme I want. Great dividend, and great valuations. ABBV is now my #2 holding I trimmed CNI after getting in at $101 last week. Still hold some TECH not buying yet. I still think the valuations are way too high. Eventually the market will get in right. Only names I have been adding to on weakness are BABA and AVGO. Anytime I see AVGO go below $425 I add. Baba under $208. That's about the way I have been playing of late. And of course will add when I get a big dip in companies I like. Such as DG added at $198 this week. And not. I like Eric I'm not selling the name for some spec like ETHE lol. I thought you were done buying spec stocks with your track record jk Nice on VSTO. Great time to sell on that jump. From $9 to $44 lol. But most likely will continue to run with a low PE of only $9 and earnings of $4.44. Sound like what a FANG stock should look like RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 05-27-2021 (05-11-2021, 09:12 AM)divmenow Wrote:(05-11-2021, 09:08 AM)fenders53 Wrote:(05-11-2021, 09:06 AM)divmenow Wrote:I am very good with owning ENPH long-term. If it were high PE I would be gone today. They'll get more major analysts coverage soon and we'll know the peak is coming as they missed the bus a year ago. Cramer has been hyping it but he was way just less late. Got in at $108.90 This will be a big winner for years to come. You have to add at some point, so why not today. I don't worry about making a few $ here and there . I'm in to win it lol Are we having fun today
(05-27-2021, 09:20 AM)EricL Wrote: Sold my trading position in DG this morning and bought ETHE with the proceeds. Drove past many lol
DG has their act together considerably better at the moment. My wife shops both stores and makes me stop by DG weekly to pick up certain things. (Cheap quality brand dog food is a staple purchase). DLTR has other things she believes she needs to have. (Crafting supplies for one). IMO there is a market in the US for both of them to add hundreds of stores a year. They just have to execute and not get stupid with debt. Long way of saying I think both of them are solid if you buy dips and don't panic buy the runs. I may sell a DLTR put and try to nab some $95 shares. I'll add at $90 if your wish comes true but I think the whole market would have to get whacked. Anything decent drops and this market can't lay off it for more than a couple days. Over and over and over it happens. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 05-27-2021 Closed my Ford options. That was a nice week. Selling some covered puts and calls on boring stuff like PFE and BTI because I have to feed my income addiction a few times a week. Safe put sells are getting hard to find. |
