Great stock to own from late 2008 to 2016.
CBRL is a theme restaurant geared towards southern food and country anywhere food. Not something a Bostoner would be able to fully comprehend but they have been wildly successful for decades and paid good dividend. The stock is volatile as hell compared to most large chain restaurants lately. Old folks like me understand the theme but it will be a tough challenge going forward. It's not a big attraction to city kids that will be tomorrow's
I don’t agree with you at on CBRL. It’s for all ages and you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at all times. They cater to everyone. I go myself every Sunday and there packed every time. From young to old. Doesn’t matter. My kids love going there and playing checkers and looking in the store. They have so many cool and interesting items. They will always be successful because people like that southern comfort food. And there entire menu is affordable. That’s a huge plus. They have the best hash browns lol. ]The numbers don’t lie. They have been is business since 1969. So this has been a huge successful story for a long, long time. They are not going anywhere. So enough of your negative talk. Your just mad because you didn’t buy with it was under $70 a year ago lol. They killed earnings. They killed the outlook. They reinstated the dividend. Not many companies during a pandemic can say that.
I've traded it for years and probably held it longer than you have as well. So hush your sassy mouth. I eat there now and then too. Gotta run. Need to buy some of those $45 PENN shares you promised me. Fenders just doesn't know a good thing when he sees it. Must have fell off the rocker at CBRL and has been bitter ever since
LOL I really like the place though my last meal their was some cheapened up processed food. (not breakfast). A couple times a month for my wife and/or I. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 05-25-2021 I'll have to give eating there a try! Join the ENPH club lolDude I am a charter member of ENPH. I made a few hundred a month the past year selling short puts while it ran. I have a few short puts that are WAY in the money after this bloodbath. I can only roll forward so much before I own $140 shares. I said here many times I was good with adding a real position starting at $125. If I am honest I need ENPH to head back to $120ish to be back to even. I wasn;t aggressive enough when it was truly cheap. I'll add shares to my growthy port in the meantime. Most of their dinner entries are good, but you are warned the sides are country. The turnip greens with a drizzle of vinegar and the fried okra is really tasty. Seriously though they have completely normal meals. Whatever the evening special is will be good. Its mostly a good place to raise your cholesterol a couple points in one sitting. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - kblake - 05-26-2021 Bought some copper names SCCO, TECK, and FQVLF Also added DG and OLLI Sold some ETF's RE: What Did You Buy Today? - stockguru - 05-26-2021 I don't know who's in charge of this site but a friend of my sons just signed up on here but cant post anything. Says he's not registered and he already activated his email and verified it. His user name is MrFortune Hope you can help him. I added some ABBV, and PM today RE: What Did You Buy Today? - Otter - 05-26-2021 Google says our closest Cracker Barrel is a 5:30 drive. Don't think we will be contributing to that dividend any time soon. Kerim is the admin here. http://dividendgrowthforum.com/member.php?action=profile&uid=1 Maybe try the "send email" function as he is pretty busy with life and doesn't visit here too often. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 05-26-2021 Got rid of a few low share count ETFs in the ROTH so I could buy one more share of Trade Desk (TTD). That brings me to ... 2 shares! But hey, gotta start the non-leveraged growth portion of the ROTH somehow, right? In the meantime, I don't want to break up the band (NAIL, RETL) who are carrying me today. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - Otter - 05-26-2021 So much for the great NASDAQ crash of 2021. Looks like a nice day so far. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - Dividendwayfarer - 05-26-2021 Hard to find good buy today; I added a little MRK and AMGN. Also initiated a small position in ABNB. My pick on speculative stocks has been terrible this year. Other than TSLA & CHWY that I bought earlier, most of my picks are showing great (some are 50%) losses. I guess I should stop following Cathie Wood sooner. |
