What Did You Buy Today? - vbin - 04-30-2021 Right when I thought psxp covered calls will expire worthless. They got called this morning before going otm. Ex div day today so buyer trying to snatch the divy, to cover his losses. Lol. What Did You Buy Today? - vbin - 04-30-2021 Rolled enph put. Bought pton puts, earnings next week. Bought enph, mnmd RE: What Did You Buy Today? - divmenow - 04-30-2021 Anyone own TWTR? My condolences lol ? Enph will need rolling.i was away from the market at work today but I let a few options expire barely in the money. Lost my T shares and gained some CSLR, MO and F for sure. I'll adjust next week if they don't move much on Monday. A lot of spec puts expired worthless. That's good as I'd like to regroup. My excitement for the day was rolling my ENPH put I sold right before earnings. Still up about $275 on premiums after the roll but only rolled it down to $150 strike so it's in the money plenty for next Friday. Not me I need another 10% correction at least to get in.I have strike 60 and 61 BMY puts so maybe me tomorrow. I could roll them of course. Depends some on which niche. Home systems, larger scale business projects utility companies are building out. SEDG is generally regarded to be a primary competitor but ENPH has some momentum and better margins to my understanding. IMO one to watch out for Canadian Solar CSIQ. A Canadian solar company of course but they are not sitting still. They are landing international projects to include Europe and the US. They have manufacturing set up in China. They have aspirations to make a big splash. They are also profitable but have a low PE. They are my hedge if my spec stuff doesn't workout. I've been selling CSIQ puts for 6+ months with good results. I pretty much avoid the no profits pie in the sky PEs. I think this is going to end like EVs with plenty of casualties. Most of the components will remain commodities in the end. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 04-30-2021 If anyone has access to analyst reports other than TD Ameritrade and Vanguard I need a favor this weekend. Please give VSTO a look and see if you can find any negative opinions. My opinion since last summer when it was trading around 15 was it would hit 30 on next week's earnings report. It hit 30 far faster than I thought when they posted the strong earnings much earlier. I am in fairly deep but mostly just short puts. I may add a few long options next week before I quickly trim it back. I think they will crush earnings at least the next few reports but the market may not care of course. BTW they have good portfolio of extremely well known mid to high end brands. Camping equipment and the best known gun accessory brands but they do not sell guns. They also own many ammo brands. Ammo you can't even buy and you pay triple price if you do. A hot commodity kinda like lumber and copper. Not sure I trust the sources, but I've heard the Gov and many police forces have hoarded it. Given today's politics that sounds feasible but it could be bunk. I don't think they wouldn't get robbed for a large purchase if that really happened. My family target shoots and I don't see any products that would be targeted by the Biden administration soon, but surely there must be a few. Most of their stuff would be desirable to serious hunters and target shooter. They seem to be catering to the sportsman, not the local militias. We'll see. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 05-02-2021 Hi all, I hope May is a great month for us, but I think the market will be choppy until: 1) The Pfizer or Moderna vaccines prove they are effective against the new India double-mutation strain. I think a lot of people are worried it's only a matter of time before what's happening in India spreads worldwide. 2) The extent of the chip shortage becomes clear. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 05-03-2021 Those or other things might keep the economy from over heating. I am not sure that is all bad. Buffett is convinced inflation is getting excessive. For now I agree. I've never seen so many commodities fly so high at once. Oil is about all that's missing as it rises slowly. The market will climb the wall of worry but the FED will likely have to ignore significant inflation. The indexes have already achieved the yearly targets of many. It wouldn't surprise me if we sectot rotate and churn while we wait for more GOV spending. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - NilesMike - 05-03-2021 Moving from Small Caps to SPY today. Between the earnings miss and short report I haven’t seen it this low in a while. So I said why not lol. You in on this one too Fenders ?I haven't researched it. Hadn't heard of it until you and Otter were discussing it last week. I am trying to not add too many more new names. We'll see how long that lasts. One is anything related to BitCoin, the other are any Small Cap ETFs. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 05-03-2021 I was about 50% in a Russell 2000 fund for 20 years only trimming it for about a year during GFC. They work out over time. |
