RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 04-15-2021 I'm eyeballing MARA; didn't put a stop on it yet. It's hovering near death's door but the patient still has a heartbeat. Stupid purchase anyway, when things like WEBL and TECL are day in day out performers. Today, however, the shame belongs to ORC. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 04-15-2021 Recharged my short puts as the last round goes away. VSTO-PLTR-DKNG-TSM-ENPH ENPH always in play in my put port and the market is allowing me to walk them down much closer to where I truly be more interested in adding shares on an exercise. I have no wild idea why TSM is underperforming. Just a faith play as I am OK with holding shares just a litle lower than here. That one expires next week as I do more research. First $1000 option income day in several weeks. I will buy something boring that pays dividends forever with the proceeds on the next real dip. Like I said before better to wait on these names and buy at the bottom of its trading range. ORC $5.25-$5.40 not a bad place to buy in. Almost there. But I would only stay in if it remained at these levels and collected the dividend for a few years. If it ran up to over $6 plus again would sell. But buying in where you did defeats the purpose of collecting the dividend. If that makes sense Basically I don't want it to move. Just stay where its at and buy 2500 shares and make a $100-150 a month on the dividend.; These stocks are not made to gain momentum and expect a run. You have to own a lot of shares or 100 shares wont do anything for you lol RE: What Did You Buy Today? - stockguru - 04-15-2021 (04-15-2021, 11:36 AM)fenders53 Wrote: Recharged my short puts as the last round goes away. I saw this in the Yahoo Conversations: If you read last earnings report they had 76,073,317 shares. This report they have 94,410,960. That’s why Book Value dropped. It’s great to see them continue paying 6.5 cents. If it dips buy more. Long 102,000 shares at $5.10. Edit: 102,000 shares; wow! I don't think I'd ever put that kind of money into ORC. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 04-15-2021 Sold ARKF today for a small profit. Still own ARKG. I am going to call that good for ARK funds for now. I actually only own a small amount of ARKW in my HSA account, otherwise nothing. ***** In other news, I've developed what I'm calling the MARA-HIBL rule. When a new shiny equity tickles my fancy, but I don't really know too much about it, I can only invest MAX $500 initially. If it proves itself and I learn a little more about it, then I can invest more. Still own ARKG. I am going to call that good for ARK funds for now. If you hang around most any internet forum we will hear random recommendations, and a lot of them are very bad advice. Now and then I will grab a few shares off this thread's random thought of the hour. Only a few shares or a couple hundred bucks. It's OK to gamble with small money. No matter what I read, I am responsible for my purchases. I am not afraid to ask why somebody is hot on a stock, or hates a stock. The folks here will tell you if it's a long-term idea or just a Momo flip in a few weeks. I try to be careful when I hype a stock. I won't share an idea unless I have done some DD. I am off on a tangent again but your idea is solid. You have a few more years to figure out all your rules lol. And nothing wrong with ARKK. I'm jealous I missed the ride. But she is in charge of big money now and she isn't acting like Peter Lynch. She is acting like a carnival barker lately. That's not OK when you manage the massive funds she does. I hope she changes her course soon. Her moves are crazy random right now. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - vbin - 04-15-2021 (04-15-2021, 10:31 AM)stockguru Wrote:Agree on the s&p stock valuation. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 04-15-2021 Minimum wage in any real form isn't even on the front burner at the moment. Last I heard they are talking about staggering raises progressively for five years to $15. AMZN, TGT ,HD , LOW plus more are already on about year four due to market pressure and blowing away profit records. You can check the tape on the profits. It surprised me. I think SPY is good for a few hundred more points in 2021 due to liquidity and TINA but we are overdue for some chop. Probably by summer. Market didn't care about over valuation 20% ago so I am not going to know when the music stops in advance. The super specs pulled back and the market barely blinked. |
