RE: What Did You Buy Today? - crimsonghost747 - 02-09-2021 I'm not a huge fan of crypto coin stuff myself. But I just need to jump in quickly here when people are dismissing a certain coin simply because, if they wish to do so, they can make more of them. Because last I checked that is the situation with all the major currencies used today. The USD is a perfect example of a currency that is still very relevant on a global scale even though the print machines have been running non-stop for years. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 02-09-2021 I get the point but there is no comparison between USD and BTC. When did usd ever move 10x up or down in months? Or most any other reputable gov issued currency? I dont rule out it's possible crypto stabilizes some year and becomes a store of value. For now it trades like a meme stock that wont give up. RE: What Did You Buy Today? - fenders53 - 02-09-2021 ZOM said they didn't need any more cash when they announced new share issue last month. Said they were good until 2023. Love those penny stock CEOs lol. Should be a roller coaster. My buddy paid 37 cents a couple months ago. For now it trades like a meme stock that wont give up. Probably in the first few years following it's introduction in 1792. Bitcoin has always traded like a fully speculative security, because that is what it is for the moment. I don't think bitcoin itself will be the currency of the future, but one of these crypto coins could very well make it big somewhere down the line. (decades from now) Crypto has very few actual uses right now but I do think the massive volatility, and the sheer amount of different coins, are the main reasons. Give it time, I'm sure a thousand years ago people were skeptical of some dude wanting to take their food in exchange for an inedible coin with some dudes face on it. They are expanding and opening up 2 new centers this year. It’s such a fun place and I can see this doing well over the next several years once things open up again. "They are changing the way we tee it up" You can play all the best gold courses around the world virtually. Such a cool idea. I looked this up, and a very cool idea indeed. (I'm not a golfer, but I'd love to try this out.) But what is the investment thesis? Revenues for the past 5 years have been either steady or declining. Earnings have been in the negative basically the whole time and the red numbers just keep getting bigger. The company has existed since 2002 (not sure how long they have had this current business plan) and they haven't gotten it working with their current locations, will a couple more locations solve this? Topgolf seems to have the exact same concept, but with a lot more locations and they are currently expanding both in the US and internationally. I didn't even know of topgolf, but quite a few drive shack reviews on google etc said that they will be going back to topgolf. (in general the DS reviews were positive though) Without having even heard of these places before today, it certainly looks like topgolf is the #1 dude in this business. And now that topgolf has been bought by Callaway, well I'd say that's a positive for topgolf. What is the driver that I'm missing? Is there something that I'm not seeing that will turn DS into a real competitor and get them going on their way to profitability? Stay tuned. I'll try to shoot down your other ideas too. xD (actually I'm researching these since you do have an eye for finding smaller companies with amazing growth potential) RE: What Did You Buy Today? - Otter - 02-09-2021 Sold some 01/21/2022 $25 PLTR Puts for $6.00/contract. Effective entry price of $19.00/share if they get assigned. Good income in the meantime, and may buy them back if it continues to trend upwards. Well the Pandemic sure put a damper on earnings the last year that's for sure. But like I said they have the backing of Rory, Wes Edens and now Taylormade. This isn't a get rich quick stock. They are a small megacap stock just now starting to expand into great areas like Orlando and West Palm Beach. I don't think Mr. Mcllroy would be investing into this company and being the spokesperson unless he believed in it. This is just a fun little company and I dont mind throwing $500 at it and hold for the next 5 years lol The funny this is the new CEO came from Topgolf I own ELY too. Topgolf is the reason why its higher. I read that they expect $1.2bn in revs within 4 years... and that isn't too shabby. Kind of feel I'm getting in at ground levels now BTW how about that TLRY HRVOF up another 33% to a new high. It has gone from .08 to .016 in 2 days. A new high and I'm not selling until $2 lol. And no this is not a pump hahaha!! I just really like it RE: What Did You Buy Today? - ken-do-nim - 02-09-2021 Got a little ZOM just because everyone is talking about it Reduced my position in CURE and started a new position in TQQQ.
