RE: Help me design a growthy port please. - fenders53 - 11-20-2020 Just some info so I can update at EOM. A few new buys. BABA- 3 shares, new position VSTO- 10 shares, add APD- 2 shares, added DG- 2 shares, new position SOXX ETF- 1 share, new position SOXX will likely be temporary but at least it's tech and I think the semis will have a decent 2021. I'd rather buy NVDA or ADBE but I just can't pay the current prices. Until the market corrects I am going to try to limit myself to 1-2 new stocks per month, and add new sectors. Covid will beat something down eventually. RE: Help me design a growthy port please. - fenders53 - 02-05-2021 Sold my share of SOXX in my growthy port because ETFs are boring and it's up nicely since October when I parked the cash. Adding a little to QCOM-DG-APD today. As silly as it sounds I am really enjoying my new port even if it's still a rounding error on my overall performance. It's growing fast as I deploy 2500 of my monthly option income to it though. I need to update my spreadsheet. I didn't realize I was so far behind updating it here. It's up nicely. That's all I know for sure. No way the performance will continue at this clip. Wish I had put some money there most years when I was doing more mutual funds. I own AVGO-SWKS, TSM and QCOM in this port. I'll cull at least one more this year but I think they will all have a good year so no hurry.(02-05-2021, 11:33 AM)fenders53 Wrote: Sold my share of SOXX in my growthy port because ETFs are boring and it's up nicely since October when I parked the cash. SOXX does look awesome. 5 years ago: $91.62 Now: $406.28 Net: x4.43 your initial investment SOXL is one of my crazy triple leveraged funds. 5 years ago: $27.01 Now: $553.20 Net: x20.48 your initial investment Can it keep that pace up? I don't know but I hope so. RE: Help me design a growthy port please. - fenders53 - 02-05-2021 (02-05-2021, 03:01 PM)ken-do-nim Wrote:Only when semis are in an upcycle. The upcycles seem to be getting longer before the nexy bust comes. 5G is going to accelerate the growth of smart everything in the home. I am more optimistic on this sub-sector than any other the next few years. Lighten up when growth slows. The leverage works both ways of course.(02-05-2021, 12:27 PM)fenders53 Wrote:(02-05-2021, 11:46 AM)ken-do-nim Wrote:SOXX is a great ETF. RE: Help me design a growthy port please. - fenders53 - 02-10-2021 I'll get this updated for DEC and JAN tonight so I can get more meaningful input. Thoughts on NKE for a 4 year hold? It's certainly not undervalued but I'm not expecting a meaningful pullback with stimulus checks heading out to people that aren't unemployed again. Almost everything I have purchased since I started this in OCT has either launched, or the position size is at or above 10% so I need more choices soon. I am not averaging up 25% or much more on stocks I just purchased a few months ago. EDIT: Here's where I am today Total invested since OCT $10,168 PORT is up $1402 Not too bad considering half the money has been invested about 6 weeks. I need to get my $2500 FEB allotment invested soon.
