RE: What are your winners & losers today? - ken-do-nim - 06-24-2021 Yeah that VSTO is nice; up 77.49% in the past 6 months. PE ratio is still 10. I'll definitely keep an eye on it for when new money arrives. Check out Vista Outdoors website. They own a lot of good brands of adventure and outdoor recreation. With Covid reopening some of their products are selling out. Cycling, camping etc. The other side of their business is shooting sports. They dominate the ammunition market and haven't been able to meet demand since the civil unrest last year. Shelves are still empty for popular calibers. This was a political stock play for me. A lot of people hoard ammo. It's much like any other commodity. Vista doesn't sell guns anymore. That's a little too much political risk for me. I won't hold a stock for years waiting for trouble that will surely come eventually. Anyway some normalcy will return to VSTO business eventually. I do believe they will have at least one more ridiculously good quarter. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - fenders53 - 06-25-2021 NKE had a nice day. Up $20.75 and 15% plus. I don't own a lot though. Must have been over a dozen analyst upgrades today. Where were these cat's last week? I really wonder why I pay any heed to them. Port is just a little shy of ATH. So a 10 day round trip to nowhere and back. Typical summer. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - ken-do-nim - 06-25-2021 Wow! Nike, I never would have guessed. My port ended the day up a smidgeon. FAS, DRN, and RETL were the stars. Overall, it was a lovely week. Also, CURE ended the day $10 shy of joining the $10k club and WEC popped back into the green. With moderate success I should be back at ATH next week. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - ken-do-nim - 06-28-2021 6 consecutive up days in a row now, and my port finally reached its all-time high after a two month hiatus. The hero of the day was SOXL, as all the chip stocks were up. TDD also continues to grow and is now my largest stock (non-ETF) holding. DFEN was beaten up pretty bad on the losing side. Another notable is that CURE joined the $10k club, though obviously that could change tomorrow. For stocks, AVGO joined the $7k club. ORC slipped further to 5.38 and despite the 14% div it may just have to go. Many of my high dividend payers were down today, but OXLC continues to climb. Recent acquisitions ARCC and CIK finally went into the green. On the other hand, I seem to have bought KMI at the wrong time. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - fenders53 - 06-28-2021 New Port ATH today. CSIQ up 12.5% and most everyone I own in solar up well over 5%. Friday was a bad day to add to my oil. Everything oil got beat up. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - ken-do-nim - 06-28-2021 I see, so oil starts getting expensive so the energy money shifts into solar. Edit: yeah, just checked, ERX took a beating today as well. And I don't have GUSH anymore, but it went down even more. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - fenders53 - 06-28-2021 Covid variant scare supposedly and OPEC meeting this week. Solar trades with tech and spec growth. That MOMO thing. They will probably run back to the danger zone. Literally all my solar is running to include the ones that warned next quarter may not be great. Just like chips they all run when the market gets positive on a few. RE: What are your winners & losers today? - Otter - 06-29-2021 BITW up 11.8% this morning. Glad I dollar cost averaged in when it was $35. Could be $25 next week. Riding that crypto coaster.
