What Did You Buy Today?

They cut the dividend in half but I'm ok with a 7% yield. They will raise again once things get better.

With 2500 shares I'm generating $1500 a year in dividends. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm surprised no one else is taken advantage of these low prices.

The company has repurchased $973 million of its common shares. And It expects to utilize the remaining ~$227 million by the first quarter of 2021.

I have been buying IVZ off and on for a little bit.  Nowhere near as large a purchase as you have made.  Will most likely be buying some more on Monday as I will have my large MO dividends and a few others hit the account Friday after trading has ended.
I looked at IVZ over a year go.  The obvious question is why are they down this hard?  I understand there is a long-time trend towards passive mutual fund investing.  They still manage pension funds right?  I just didn't understand their current revenue stream well enough to invest.  Invesco was my very first mutual fund family and they were awesome.  I remember calling on the phone several times a week to get share price updates. Smile  Pretty sure I don't want a price update now as it would make me very ill lol.
Bought BA in the pre-market. I have missed this stock in the past and I'm not missing it again. I like the news and think this will hit $200 soon. Now that they didn't take the governments money I can see them buying back shares.

Today I have my eye on a few more names.

Nice buy on BA. It will come back.

I added some UPS, PSA and ABBV with the proceeds from MO and PFE
Added some EV this morning.

Is that your code word for a big stealthy TSLA buy?   Big Grin

Just kidding, I was actually glancing at EV last night.  Dividend looks safe.

WY just cut my Div.  I knew they might and had been trimming the position higher for weeks. Sold some more WY this AM and then immediately sold a MAY 15 covered put at a slightly lower strike.  Got over two quarterly dividends back in 30 seconds.  These Div cutters aren't taking it without a fight lol.
Took a new position in BEN today and added to UPS and GD

Sold the rest of my LLY and put the proceeds from my MO dividend into MRK

Sold out of LOW after the big run. Looking at some tech name today to put the proceeds

Does that suit you Fenders Wink

I like TROW even more in the same space, but already have a full position there.

I deserved that lol.

Those are good trades.  I've done very well with pharma but mostly missed the LLY ride.  (sold a few covered puts for a few Benjamins while LLY flew much higher).  MRK is real close to my largest holding for now.  I'd like to trim it but I need a different pharma to dip.

Not a space I am extremely excited about, but it seems prudent to spread out the bets in financials.  I see a half dozen banks and insurance companies that look good but there is no telling what happens in the next 90 days.  FED chief has made it clear he is not done gaming this.
Added to IVZ and WFC.
Just some ore opinion here. The monopolies that dominate the indexes have all reported this week and we get some earnings reports from the companies exposed to the real pain outside their control the next few weeks. I think the market will take a break from being drunk until the FEDs next trick. Powell is nowhere near done yet for sure. Buying a few shares of my stocks today that are down 5-10% today from when I trimmed very recently. Mostly UTEs and boring highish yield cyclicals that can pay their Div a few more quarters. Literally just a lot of trades of a few hundred dollars until that stops working. If I got one thing right it was selling off my industrials down to tiny positions. I look forward to adding them back very gradually. They are going to pullback with the economic reality IMO. We'll see.

I have no near-term price predictions but BA survives IMO.  They borrowed and incinerated $12B just a few months ago.  $25B might keep them floating six or more months until they can actually sell a commercial jet again.  Their customers are dying for quarters to come but the defense contracts should keep them closer to solvent.  Who knows what stock price the market will apply for the future?  I think you will win with BA with a few years of patience.  They won't be buying back any shares for years IMO.  That is part of what got them into this mess.
