Chatham Lodging Trust
#1
Here is the article I wrote covering my most recent portfolio purchase, Chatham Lodging Trust.

Booking Growth And Income With Chatham Lodging Trust

The company is a REIT operating in the lodging sector that focuses on upper scale properties in larger markets. It has a great growth history since its 2010 IPO and currently pays a 4.3% yield. I don't consider it a core holding, but as long as the economy continues to slowly grow, I think it is a nice growth stock opportunity.

Nice write-up on an attractive looking REIT. It's got all the boxes checked off - good yield, DGR, monthly dividends, ownership of prime RE, and a pullback. Alas I have no cash in my Roth IRA, so all REITs are pretty much relegated to the wish list.

Brad Thomas has a new article about CLDT: Can Chatham Keep Chalking Up Dependable Monthly Dividends?

I had put this on my "watchlist that I don't watch very closely" after Brad's article earlier this year. I started doing more serious research after your article, Eric, and will probably open a position shortly.

I think this has the potential to be a great dividend growth company.

I do as well. The only potential downside in my mind is if the economy tanks into recession it will get hit hard, but as long as the economy keeps slowly growing I think it has great potential.

Yes, better in a tax advantaged account as the dividends are generally taxed as regular income rather than qualified dividends.
