I don't think I've seen anything like that in my many years of wrestling with this software, sorry to say. I'll add it to the wish list for if / when we ever consider different forum software, though.
While not really what you are after, near the top of the page, immediately below the black bar that includes the search box, there is a grey bar. In that grey bar, there are "View New Posts" and "View Today's Posts" buttons. At our current size and rate of posting, at least, those might provide some help.
